Features of the socio-economic development of border regions

Abstract

The article emphasizes that establishing and strengthening friendly, good-neighborly, and mutually
beneficial relations with neighboring Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan are of paramount importance in the
socioeconomic development of the Surkhandarya region. The socioeconomic development of the Surkhandarya
region is largely due to its border location. It is analyzed that the underdeveloped economies of neighboring
countries, on the one hand, provide a favorable market for the region, and on the other, reduce the opportunities for
harmonious development.
