Abstract

Relevance of the topic: employment issues are considered in the context of the development of a green
economy, which makes it possible to coordinate the tasks of greening the labor market with its modernization
and reduction of unemployment, with an increase in the environmental and energy efficiency of the economy.
The existence of contradictory trends between the development of the labor market and the achievement of
environmental well-being has been revealed. On the one hand, environmental pollution and depletion of natural
capital have a negative impact on the state of the labor market and employment of the population, on the other
hand, activities to improve the environment, eliminate accumulated environmental damage, and develop the market
for environmental works, goods, and services contribute to the expansion of employment, not only green, but also
general. For the development of green employment in the country, it is necessary to develop and implement a detailed action plan, including the identification of indicators characterizing such development and the allocation of
priority types of economic activity.
