This article explores the goals and objectives of self-employment in the regional service sector, as well as
its significance in reducing poverty. It highlights the specific aspects of poverty reduction through self-employment
and discusses the advantages of this form of economic activity. Furthermore, based on studies conducted across
different regions, the paper analyzes the key aspects of implementing the “From Poverty to Prosperity” program.
The research emphasizes that the level of public welfare is a continuously changing indicator and that effective
monitoring of regional development programs aimed at improving citizens’ well-being is essential. Drawing on
international best practices, the article also presents recommendations for fostering entrepreneurship, creating new
jobs, and increasing household income as a means of enhancing the quality of life and improving overall welfare in
the regions.
