This article will consider the theoretical and methodological foundations of the development of social
infrastructure in the regions. The content of social infrastructure, its role in economic and social development, as
well as mechanisms of effective management in the context of territorial differences are analyzed. The problems of
planning based on the relationship between the location of social infrastructure facilities, the needs of the population
and government policy will also be considered. The article will develop methodological approaches to the strategic
development of social infrastructure using modern economic theories and concepts of territorial development.
